Rachael Cooyou is a Payungu Elder, mother, grandmother and artist whose business — rae-wendy creations — has been operating since 2019. Based in the Gascoyne, Rachael weaves Payungu language, story and Country into every piece she makes.

ATWA's Business Support Hub helped Rachael formalise the operations behind her creative practice — bookkeeping, online sales, brand work — so the artistic side could keep growing without the admin pulling her under.

What started as a personal practice now supports family, feeds language work back into the community and reaches collectors well beyond the region.
